Her story

Just an educator trying to bring opportunities

A new voice for growing Thorold and families.

An educator first

Gurinder has spent her career in classrooms and learning spaces, helping students find confidence and a path forward. That work shapes how she approaches city hall: listen carefully, explain decisions plainly and measure success by whether people are actually better off.

A mother and a neighbour

As a mother raising a family in Thorold, she knows the dreams and the pressures our households carry — childcare that is hard to find, property taxes that climb faster than paycheques, and programs for kids that fill up in minutes. Those are not abstract files; they are kitchen-table conversations.

Why she is running

Thorold is growing quickly. Growth can either arrive with a plan or arrive on top of us. Gurinder is running to make sure the plan comes first: infrastructure that keeps pace, services that scale with new neighbourhoods and a council that publishes the reasoning behind every decision.

How she will serve

Open office hours in every part of the city, plain-language budget summaries before votes, and an answer to every resident who writes in. Council works best when residents can follow along without needing to read a 400-page agenda package.

Guiding values

How she will decide

Fiscal Responsibility

Every dollar collected should work for you, and every decision should be explained in plain language.

Stronger Community

Smart decisions today build a better tomorrow for the neighbours who live here now and those still arriving.

Better Quality of Life

Invest in what matters most to our families: parks, recreation, safety and reliable city services.

Transparency & Accountability

Open, honest and answerable to you — with council decisions shared before they are made, not after.
